Anna Cruz

Anna Patricia Cruz, 59 of Lubbock passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021.  Viewing and visitation will begin Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel (Lubbock) from 10:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 6:00 p.m. the same evening. A Celebration of Life will begin 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 23, 2021, at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel (Lubbock) with Eric Montoya officiating. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home and Chapel.

Anna was born July 27, 1961, in El Paso, Texas to the late Justino and Luisa Cruz. On August 12, 1978, Anna married Timoteo Luera in Lubbock. Anna earned her BSN, RN from Texas Tech in 1999 and worked for Covenant Medical Center for over twenty years, she had a very giving soul, and dedicated her life to serving patients. She found joy in knitting, cooking, watching hallmark movies and bargain shopping for her family. Anna also treasured decorating her home for every season, with decorating came her love of collecting snowmen and Christmas ornaments. She found Vegas to be enjoyable and loved to travel when she could. However, her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, Anna especially loved all her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Justino and Luisa Cruz.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Timoteo Luera of Lubbock; a son Timmy Luera and wife Angela Prieto of Lubbock; daughters Amanda and husband Amos Castillo of Lubbock and Kristina Luera of Lubbock; a brother Justino Cruz Jr. and wife Mary Lou of Lubbock; a sister Lily Cruz of Lubbock; nine grandchildren, one great grandchild and one on the way.
