Anastacia Caballero, 91 of Lubbock passed away Friday, June 10, 2022. Viewing and visitation for Mrs. Caballero will be Tuesday, June 14, 2022, from 10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.  with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. the same day. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Martin Pina officiating.  Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.

Anastacia was born May 2, 1931, in Santa Isabel, Chihuahua, Mexico, to the late Jose and Urbana Cano. Later in life she went on to marry Octavio Caballero.  She was a homemaker and spent most of her time caring for her family and taking care of her home. She enjoyed her coffee every morning and not to mention, she was a great cook.  She prepared some of the most delicious Mexican plates, tamales, tortillas, and a variety of dishes. She would also sing as she went about her daily chores.  Anastacia was also a great gardener.  She had a green thumb and could grow some of the most beautiful flowers.  Her memory will forever be cherished by her family and all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband Octavio Caballero and her parents Jose and Urbana Cano.

She is survived by two sons; Manuel Mendoza of Abernathy, and Norberto Mendoza of New Mexico; one daughter, Urbana Mendoza of Lubbock; seven brothers, Gregorio Cano, Raymundo Cano, Fabian Cano, Sabino Cano, Meregildo Cano, Juan Cano and Reyes Cano; one sister, Josefa Cano; ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Anastacia Caballero, de 91 años, de Lubbock, falleció el viernes 10 de junio de 2022. El velorio y visita de la Sra. Caballero será el martes 14 de junio de 2022, de 10:00 a. m. a 8:00 p. m. con un rosario a las 6:00 p.m. el mismo día. La misa fúnebre será a las 10:00 a. m., el miércoles 15 de junio de 2022, en la iglesia católica Our Lady of Guadalupe, oficiada por el padre Martín Pina. El entierro seguirá en Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park bajo la dirección de Calvillo Funeral Home.

Anastacia nació el 2 de mayo de 1931 en Santa Isabel, Chihuahua, México, hija del difunto José y Urbana Cano. Más tarde en la vida se casó con Octavio Caballero. Era ama de casa y pasaba la mayor parte de su tiempo cuidando de su familia y cuidando su hogar. Disfrutaba de su café todas las mañanas y sin mencionar que era una gran cocinera. Ella preparó algunos de los platillos mexicanos más deliciosos, tamales, tortillas y una variedad de platillos. También cantaba mientras realizaba sus tareas diarias. Anastacia también fue una gran jardinera. Tenía un pulgar verde y podía cultivar algunas de las flores más hermosas. Su memoria será atesorada por siempre por su familia y todos los que la conocieron.

Le precedieron en la muerte su esposo Octavio Caballero y sus padres José y Urbana Cano.

Le sobreviven dos hijos; Manuel Mendoza de Abernathy y Norberto Mendoza de Nuevo México; una hija, Urbana Mendoza de Lubbock; siete hermanos, Gregorio Cano, Raymundo Cano, Fabián Cano, Sabino Cano, Meregildo Cano, Juan Cano y Reyes Cano; una hermana, Josefa Cano; diez nietos y trece bisnietos.
