Adulfo Cortez

The family of Adulfo Cortez will hold a memorial service at 7 p.m., Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Iglesia Bautista Urbana Church, 2207 Urbana Place, Lubbock, Texas. The family will accept floral arrangements at the church. The cremation arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.

Adulfo Cortez, 46, of Lubbock, passed away September 12, 2020. He was born August 31, 1974, in Hereford, Texas to Ernesto Luna Cortez and Pauline Cortez.  On August 28, 2004, he married Evette Sanchez in Lubbock treasuring 16 years of marriage. He worked in the agriculture business, doing gin repair for numerous years. Adulfo enjoyed making others laugh and always left others with good memories to cherish. He was a big football fan, in particular he enjoyed cheering on The San Francisco 49ers.  He also enjoyed fishing but most of all, his biggest success was that he loved being dad to Marcelina his daughter.

He is preceded in death by his father Ernesto Luna Cortez and a brother Armando Cortez.

He is survived, by his loving wife Evette Cortez of Lubbock; daughter, Marcelina Nevaeh Cortez of Lubbock; his mother Pauline Cortez of Lubbock; brothers, Ernest Cortez Jr. of Lubbock, and Sammy Cortez of Lubbock; one sister, Becky Cortez Calderon of Lubbock.
