Adela Ramirez

Adela Ramirez, 82, celebrated a birthday in heaven on Tuesday, June 8, 2021.  Services for Mrs. Ramirez will begin 10:30a.m., Friday, June 11, 2021, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Slaton, Texas with Father Jacob Puthuparambil officiating.  Burial will follow in Englewood Cemetery in Slaton, Texas under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home. Viewing will be 2:00-8:00pm on Thursday, June 10, 2021, with a rosary beginning at 7:00p.m. on the same day at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel.

Adela was born June 8, 1939 in Floresville to the late Jose and Santos Montoya.  She married David Ramirez in Post, Texas on August 14, 1978. Adela was a homemaker, a great cook and always took care of her family. Apart, from her daily routines Adela found time to enjoy music, dancing, and fishing. She also enjoyed attending circle track races and watching her husband, son and grandson race. Her greatest joy in life however was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a son Victor De La Rosa and by a sister Elena Montoya.

She is survived by her husband David Ramirez of Slaton; a daughter Kelly Ramirez of Slaton; a brother Larry Montoya of Slaton; two sisters Irene Trevino of Slaton and Adelina Arevalo of Bryan; three grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
